Before your appointment
PREPARING FOR YOUR TATTOO SESSION
SKIN PREPARATION
1. Avoid tanning and sun exposure.
The skin must not be sunburnt or freshly tanned. Protect the tattoo area from excessive sun exposure before your appointment. If your skin is sunburnt, irritated or significantly affected by tanning, your session may need to be postponed.
2. Moisturise regularly.
Ideally, begin moisturising the tattoo area daily about 2 weeks before your appointment, using a gentle moisturiser suitable for your skin. Apply once or twice a day if tolerated, and discontinue any product that causes irritation.
3. Moles and skin concerns.
If there are moles, unusual skin marks or other concerns in the tattoo area, consult a dermatologist before your appointment. Moles should not be tattooed over without appropriate assessment.
4. Hair removal.
If you are considering professional or permanent hair removal in the tattoo area, plan it well in advance and allow the skin to heal completely before tattooing. Please discuss the timing with your tattoo artist.
5. Gentle exfoliation.
If your skin tolerates it, gentle exfoliation may be done around two weeks and one week before your appointment. Avoid harsh scrubbing, waxing or shaving the area immediately before the session. The skin should be calm and free from irritation.
THANK YOU FOR PREPARING
Following these guidelines helps us create the best possible conditions for your tattoo session. Your preparation, patience and cooperation are an important part of the process.
I look forward to creating something unique with you.
Please read these guidelines carefully before your appointment. Proper preparation helps make your session more comfortable and supports the best possible tattoo result.
BEFORE YOUR SESSION
1. Take care of your health.
In the week leading up to your appointment, prioritise your well-being, eat regularly and avoid anything that may make you feel unwell. If you are ill on the day of your appointment, please contact me. If you have children, please arrange for them to stay at home on the day of your session.
2. Get enough rest and eat well.
Have a good night's sleep and a proper breakfast before your appointment. Avoid coffee and energy drinks that morning, as they may increase restlessness or discomfort.
3. Wear comfortable clothing.
Choose loose, comfortable clothes that allow easy access to the tattoo area. Wear something you don't mind getting stained. Avoid light or brightly coloured clothing, as it can affect the appearance of tattoo photographs. Please arrive without makeup on the area being tattooed.
4. Bring something warm.
Long sessions can feel chilly. A blanket, warm socks or a jacket can help you stay comfortable.
5. Bring food and snacks.
Bring enough food and snacks for the duration of your session, along with water. Staying hydrated and eating regularly can help you feel more comfortable.
6. Keep your schedule flexible.
Avoid making plans for the evening. Sessions can take longer than expected, and some may finish late. Please arrange your transport home in advance so there is no need to rush.
7. Arrange your transport.
If possible, avoid driving yourself after a long session, as you may feel tired, light-headed or uncomfortable.
8. Guests and companions.
If you are arriving with someone, please make sure they have alternative plans for the duration of your session, as additional people are not permitted in the working area.
